About this product

Mortise is a Shopify home decor theme built on Dawn for wall art, frame, ceramics and handmade decor stores. It has a calm Japandi look: rice paper and stone tones, clay and ink accents, a small seal red mark, Shippori Mincho headings and light Albert Sans text. Products are shown in real rooms, so buyers see scale and mood before they order.

Because Mortise is built on Shopify’s Dawn theme and uses standard Dawn sections, it keeps Online Store 2.0 features such as collection filtering, predictive search, the cart drawer and full editing in the theme customizer.

Built for wall art and home decor

Decor shoppers buy by room and by size. Mortise opens with a wide room scene, then large room tiles to shop by bedroom, dining, hallway and shelf. Product cards are square studio shots that switch to a room photo on hover, with a “View” tag instead of quick add, which suits higher price pieces. The header menu is organised by room.

Signature sections

• Wall visualiser – shoppers pick a wall colour and a print size. The print and a bench are drawn to scale, the price updates, and the chosen size goes to the cart.
• Shop the room – numbered hotspots on a room photo, linked to a product list. Add one piece or the whole room.
• Materials and care – tabs for oak, clay, linen and paper, each with its own close-up, care tips and key facts.

The product page has a thumbnail gallery with zoom, frame and size buttons, a made-to-order delivery note, accordions for details, materials and shipping, a trust row and the wall visualiser. The collection page has a filter sidebar and a commission banner. Every page has a designed mobile layout.
