Shopify Google Ads Management

Google Ads for Shopify.
Managed Around Margin, Not Clicks.

Most Shopify stores run Google Ads the way the app set them up: one Performance Max campaign, every product inside it, and conversion numbers that never match Shopify orders. We manage Google Ads for Shopify stores differently. We fix tracking first, split campaigns by margin and intent, keep your product feed clean in Merchant Center, and report on the revenue you can see in your Shopify admin.

What we do

Your own audit lists these against your real campaigns, ranked by wasted spend.

Is this a fit

Built for Shopify stores that already sell

Google Ads works best when it has sales data to learn from. If your store isn't ready yet, the audit will say so and tell you what to fix first.

A good fit if

  • +Your Shopify store already takes orders every week
  • +You know your product margins, or can share them
  • +You're running ads now and results have flattened
  • +You want revenue you can check in Shopify, not just platform ROAS
  • +You sell physical products that suit Shopping and Performance Max

Not a fit yet if

  • ×The store hasn't launched or has no sales history
  • ×Margins are too thin to pay for a click and still profit
  • ×You need a guaranteed ROAS before any work starts
  • ×You want results judged in the first two weeks
Campaign types

The Google Ads campaigns we run for Shopify stores

Each campaign type does a different job. We use the ones your catalogue and margins can support, not all of them by default.

Performance Max

Google's campaign across Search, Shopping, YouTube, Display and Gmail. It performs well on Shopify once tracking and the product feed are clean.

When we use it

As the main sales driver, split into separate campaigns by margin tier.

Standard Shopping

Product ads from your Merchant Center feed, with full control over search terms, bids and which products show.

When we use it

To test new products, and to protect margins on lines Performance Max overspends on.

Search

Text ads on the exact searches you choose, with copy written for each group of terms.

When we use it

For brand protection, high-intent category searches and tightly budgeted competitor tests.

Demand Gen and YouTube

Video and image ads that reach shoppers before they search for what you sell.

When we use it

For product launches and to grow remarketing audiences, once the core campaigns are profitable.

Dynamic remarketing

Ads that show shoppers the exact products they viewed on your store.

When we use it

Inside Performance Max for most stores, or on its own for products people take longer to decide on.

What's included

Five parts of the account, managed together

Every item is a change inside your ad account, feed or tracking. Nothing here is a slide deck.

Tracking and attribution

Every bidding decision depends on this, so it comes first.

  • One deduplicated purchase conversion
  • Enhanced conversions and consent mode
  • GA4 linked, values matched to Shopify orders
  • Refunds and returns reflected where it matters

Shopping and Performance Max

Campaigns grouped by what products earn, not how the catalogue is sorted.

  • Campaigns split by margin and sales history
  • Custom labels built from your Shopify data
  • Brand exclusions and asset groups by category
  • Listing groups that give every product a fair test

Search campaigns

Control over the exact terms you pay for, where intent is high.

  • Brand, category and competitor campaigns
  • Search term review every week
  • Shared negative keyword lists
  • Responsive search ads written and tested

Feed and Merchant Center

Included with management. Your ads are only as good as the product data behind them.

  • Titles and product types rewritten for search
  • GTIN, brand and attribute fixes
  • Disapprovals and policy warnings cleared
  • Promotions and sale price annotations

Reporting you can check

Spend and revenue by campaign, reconciled to your Shopify admin.

  • Revenue and ROAS by campaign and product tier
  • Numbers checked against Shopify, not just Google
  • What changed this month, in plain English
  • A monthly call to set next month's plan

Set up for how Shopify actually works

Most Google Ads problems on Shopify start in the connection between the store and Google, not in the ads. These are the details we check on every account.

01

Checkout tracking

Shopify has moved order status page scripts to Customer Events. We check your purchase tag fires there once per order, with the right value and currency.

02

Google & YouTube app sync

The app sends your products to Merchant Center, including weak titles and missing attributes. We fix them with a supplemental feed, so your storefront copy stays as it is.

03

Variants

Every variant becomes its own ad item. We make sure each colour and size has the right image, GTIN and title, so shoppers see the variant they searched for.

04

Shopify Markets

Selling in more than one country? Each market needs the right currency, shipping and language in the feed, or products get disapproved.

05

Margin data

Shopify stores your cost per item. We turn it into custom labels, so bids follow the profit on each product rather than its price.

06

Consent mode

For shoppers in the UK and EU, consent mode v2 keeps conversion measurement working when people decline cookies.

The actual deliverable

Every campaign gets one job.

In week three you get a campaign map: every campaign, what it targets, how it bids and what it replaces in your current setup.

Illustrative structure. Yours is built from your catalogue, margins and account history.

The first 90 days

Fix the data, then spend

Scaling an account with broken tracking just buys more of the wrong clicks. Measurement comes first, then structure, then budget.

Pricing and onboarding

How pricing works, and what we need to start

One retainer covers the management. Your ad spend stays between you and Google.

Your cost has two parts

01

Ad spend

Paid by you directly to Google, on your own card, in your own account. It never passes through us.

02

Management retainer

A fixed monthly fee, scoped to how many campaigns, markets and products we manage. You get the figure after the free audit.

What shapes the quote: monthly ad spend, catalogue size, number of countries, and whether tracking and the feed need rebuilding first.

What we need from you to start

  • ✓Access to Google Ads through a manager account link
  • ✓Access to Google Merchant Center
  • ✓A Shopify staff account with apps and analytics permissions
  • ✓GA4 access, if you use it
  • ✓Rough margins by product or collection
  • ✓Your goal: a target ROAS, cost per order or monthly revenue

FAQs

Questions store owners ask us

It depends on your margins, average order value and how many products you sell. Smart bidding needs steady conversion data, so small budgets spread across many campaigns tend to stall. After the audit we give you a starting budget and the point where raising it makes sense.

No. You pay Google directly for clicks, on your own card, in your own account. Our fee is a separate monthly retainer, scoped to campaign complexity and account size.

Yes. We work inside your account through manager access. If we part ways, you remove our access and every campaign, audience and conversion history stays with you.

Usually two tags fire for the same purchase, enhanced conversions are missing, or view-through conversions are counted as sales. Fixing this is the first thing we do, because every bid depends on it.

All three. Performance Max works well for Shopify stores once it has clean data, a good feed and brand exclusions. We use Search and standard Shopping where you need tighter control over which terms and products get the budget.

Tracking and feed fixes land in the first two to three weeks. New campaigns need a learning period, so expect a fair read on performance around weeks six to eight. You get a progress report from the first month.

Yes. Give 30 days' notice and there's no cancellation fee. Everything we build stays in your ad account and Merchant Center.
